Workshops and Groups
Workshops are usually provided on request for specific groups. If there are any workshops open to the general public, details are posted on the News and Information page. Workshop 1: Alexander Technique IntroductionThis workshop introduces the basics of the Alexander Technique. It offers a means of improving the way in which we use our bodies in all our activities. The psychological content of this workshop makes it interesting over and above its obvious physical applications. This workshop may be adapted to the needs of specific groups, eg musicians, sportspeople, computer operators, physiotherapists, dance and sports instructors..... Workshop 2: Alexander Technique Follow-upThis follows on from the Alexander Technique Introduction and is tailor made to the needs individuals participating. If attended at regular intervals it serves to reinforce and enhance learning as well as to open up new aspects of personal development. Workshop 3: Back Pain Prevention
This
workshop focuses on a major cause of visits to general practitioners.
Participants are taken through some of the major causes of back- and
other musculo-skeletal pain and are introduced to preventive measures which
they will be able to apply for themselves in their working and private lives. Workshop 4: Dealing with StressThis workshop provides information on the nature of stress and offers a number of systematic ways of managing one’s own stress using methods firmly based in the Alexander Technique |
